The RS 130 wireless RF headphone system with switchable surround sound is an ideal choice for both hi-fi and TV use. The lightweight RS 130 lets you enjoy freedom of movement up to approx. 150 metres from the audio source. In addition, the transmitter features a convenient metal stand for storing and recharging the headphones.

The Sennheiser RSRS 130 RF STEREO HEADPHONE SET 130 is an ideal choice for those after a lightweight, great-sounding and affordable wireless headphone set. Featuring switchable surround sound and an impressive broadcast range it is a stylish and exciting audio accessory, perfect for home hi-fi and TV use.

Using the RS 130 RF stereo headphone set you can now listen to your music in private without being chained to the machine by the cable. Indeed, you don’t even need to be in the same room as your hi-fi. Simply hook up the transmitter to your audio source, put on the headphones with their built-in receiver and you’re free to roam where you please.

Thanks to the RS 130’s open circumaural wireless system you can be up to 150m away from the transmitter and still hear each note perfectly, whether you’re in the garden, the bathroom, the balcony or out on the street. These headphones open up all sorts of possibilities. It’s a good thing that they’re wireless too, as they are so lightweight and comfortable to wear that you’re likely to forget you have them on.

You don’t have to worry about tuning them either. Thanks to its intelligent auto-tuning and memory functions, the RS 130 will keep the sound crystal clear without you having to do anything. If that wasn’t enough, the self-learning automatic level control feature will ensure that the RS 130 delivers optimum signal reception every time. There’s just nothing to hold you back.

Powering and charging the headphones couldn’t be simpler. The receiver takes AAA batteries and has an approximate operating time of 22 hours. When it comes to recharging simply hang the headphones on the charging cradle provided. A set of rechargeable NiMH batteries is also included. As an added convenience, the transmitter has the option of being wall-mounted.

When it comes to watching movies or playing console games, these headphones truly shine. The surround sound mode allows you to feel completely involved with the action, bringing the whole world to life around you. If you want to lose yourself in your favourite film or become completely immersed in another environment, these headphones take you there.

While some surround sound headphones can retail for over 600 dollars, the Sennheiser RS 130 headphones offer premium wireless surround sound at less than half that price.  No cables attached. No barriers. No restrictions. Just pure experience.

Pros: The bass is unbeatable, the clarity is unbeatable, the comfort level is unbeatable and the headphones for that matter are unbeatable. Plus no more cords woooo!
Cons: Slight interference when walking from room to room, but small price to pay.
Sennheiser you bloody legend. In a nutshell these headphones are the best. The bass of these babies is truly in a league of its own as the clarity and comfort. Though slightly bulky they are very light enabling maximum comfort which is a necessity full stop. What's even more impressive is that the headphones are wireless and the quality is most probably better than wired headphones. So why make life harder? Simply go wireless and enjoy the freedom of movement.
The headphones are suitable for anything slightly Hi-Fi ranging from mp3 players to TV or sound system to the computer. So whatever you use them for you cannot go wrong.
Music-wise these bad-boys are made for anything, especially music with heavy bass.
So why go for second best? Sennheiser have put these golden speakers at an awesome price and are unbeatable.
Hail Sennheiser!

Pros: Light, comfortable, excellent sound, surround works well
Cons: Some interference when walking between rooms.
You don't expect to get corded quality sound out of wireless headphones, but these phones are a more than acceptable compromise. Provided you don't move around too much, or too far away from line of sight, the sound quality is excellent.

I found the surround feature is especially good and would recommend these over the cheaper Sennies if watching movies and TV is one of your objectives. These phones are light and comfortable enough that you can happily watch TV late into the night when the rest of the family wants quiet. This is the main reason I got these and they have performed above expectations for that task.

No wireless phones are going to be completely free of some background hiss or interference, but with these, it is not bad enough to worry about, especially if you stick in the same room as the transmitter.

The one annoyance I have with these is that, when the batteries charge, the red light stays on, but when the batteries are fully charged, it flashes. This is the opposite to most other chargers (eg cameras) I have, and it's annoying if you have the phones set up next to your TV and there is a flashing red light on all the time.

Also, very impressed with the service and price from Digital Home on this item - I saved $100 off the local store price and the phones arrived in 2 days.

Pros: Comfortable, light weight & clarity.
Cons: None so far - apart from a few drop outs moving from room to room.
These were my first set of wireless headphones. I have owned several sets of wired Sennheiser and AKG headphones over the last 25 years. I have always found Sennheiser to be pretty good stuff. So, I gave their wireless ones a try. In short, I should have bought a pair years ago. I think they are great. They are light weight, very comfortable and they do not fall off your head when you walk around or bend down. Apart from a few drop outs when I move from room to room, and a little bit of low level hum, I can't really fault them sound & comfort wise. In fact, I use them more than my wired Sennheiser HD477's. I am pretty picky when it comes to bass response but I found the RS130's to be quite thumpy if you like cranking them up. My sender unit is downstairs but I can walk anywhere in the house, upstairs & downstairs, even out into the back yard, and still receive a great signal. Even my wife commented on how good they are. My sender unit sits directly above all of my stereo equipment, DVD, amp, HDSTB, Satellite STB etc. and I do not get any interference at all. The rechargeable batteries seem to have plenty. I haven't let them run down yet but I don't doubt the stated 22 hours run time. The surround function is OK if you like that sort of stuff, I don't. Remember, these are headphones, not a 5.1 system. I have listened to CD's, music DVD's, MP3 and movies with these headphones and they sound great regardless of what you are listening to. Movies such as Private Ryan, Gangs of New York, Master & Commander, and music DVD's such as Pink Floyds Pulse, all sound excellent. I shopped around and did some homework on wireless headphones before I settled on the RS130's. Price wise, they were much cheaper to buy over the internet than from retail stores. Believe me, I checked it out first. In fact, I saved myself around $100.00 on the RSs130's over the net. Value for money, I don't think you can go wrong with these.

Pros: Clear precise sound, attractive design, impressive surround sound effect, adequate comfort and weight characteristics
Cons: Sometimes won't seat properly on cradle if extended
Because I cannot set up a full theatre sound system in the viewing room in my house, I needed to find a compromise which would give me the effect without torment to the other inhabitants.
These are it! Particularly at the Digitalhome price.
As light-weight and comfortable as I guess any headphones could be for the technology packed in, the sound is clear and well balanced frequency-wise, the base is adequate, and the surround effect is at times astonishing even though it is really only stereo. I particularly enjoy DVD's this way and I've been stunned by the extra involvement in watching the AFL finals. Together with my 32" LCD TV I'm just about there.
They don't come near my stereo system(in a different, more isolated room) for pure music listening but no headphones I've tried ever have.
Strange for such a well designed product that the reseating of the phones on the recharging cradle is a bit unreliable unless the earpieces are retracted. But this is not a big deal.

Pros: Comfort, Controls, Charging Convenience, Range, Build Quality
Cons: Conntector, Overall Size
I have previously tried a number of "wireless" headphone sets with very little success as none seems to cover all aspects very well. Specific area's in each seemed good but other area's were very poor leading to trying Sennheiser which has a reputation for producing quality products.

I shopped around and found digital home had the best deal "Durr" thats why im now reviewing them here and ordered them.

The packaging was excellent and protected the goods well. Supplied was the headphones, charging stand, 2 x AAA rechargable battries, RCA to 3.5mm audio converter & power pack.

Plugged the unit in to my reciever and it worked beautifully straight off. Have wireless networking gear and a pletoria of other electronic gear close and had no interference. In addition because of the RF you dont have to be in line of sight (ie you can go into the kitchen and make a cuppa and and have uninterrupted audio). Sweet.

The headphones themselves are large enough to go around your ears rather than sit on them so your lobes dont get sore after long periods of use.

Controls on the headphones are a good size so their easy to find and use when their on your head. There is the on/off on one size and the volume dial and frequency button on the other side which is handy if you need to change frequency in the event of interference.

The base unit is a good weight so that the headphones feel stable when you put them on the unit. The base unit has a on/off , Charge & Surround light.

The surround function tries to duplicate 5 channel surround sound thru your 2 channel headphones and although i was sceptical of the whole idea and wasnt really interested in it i was surprised by the reproduction and am now using this function when im watching DVD's.

The build quality of the base unit and the headphones are excellent and you can tell this is a quality product.

Cons are few, the audio cable is hard wired to the back of the unit with 2 RCA connectors at the end. The cable has a reasonable amount of cable lenght but this setup is not to my liking. In addition because my reciever has a 6.5 mm headphone jack i have ended up with a RCA into a 3.5mm converter and then into a 3.5mm to 6.5mm converter though you could spend extra and get an RCA to 6.5mm if required.

Finally the overall size of the headphones although by design is intially a little off putting. Well so my wife says. Weight is not a problem.

Overall my expeience with these headphones has been excellent. I have nothing but praise of these headphones as they are well designed, confortable, functional and work flawlessly.

If your looking for a set of wireless headphones do yourself a favour spend a little extra and get a pair of these. Your ears will love you for it....

These headphones are great in sound quality and very good with distance from its source. I could walk around my house listening to my music. The only cracking and hissing sounds are if i enter a different room or move too much. Other wise sitting down or standing still will have no affect on the sound quality.
The only bad thing about these headphones is its size and weight. When wearing these headphones for a long period of time, its weight really gets in the way, my neck starts to hurt, especially when playing warcraft for many hours.
Another thing is its size, i cant seem to lay down properly with this on, even if lying down head flat on the pillow, its size gets in the way and a comfortable relaxing position can not be achieved. Besides from weight, size and comfort, QUALITY is great!

I bought this cordless headset for my husband for Christmas. They arrived quickly and in perfect order - I was extremely impressed by the packaging.
The sound is excellent - great surround sound to the listener (hubby), without any sound heard by me. Now my husband can watch movies at night without disturbing me, or our young son.
Cordless is great, as you can walk around with them on (into the kitchen etc) while still listening to the movie, and you can also wear them outside, or in other rooms while listening to a CD.
The fittings are great quality and they also come with rechargeable batteries.
They are also really comfortable - with plenty of room for your ears, soft material, and padding for the part that sits on the top of your head.

We are really, really happy with them - I highly recommend them!

Purchased these for father who has a hearing problem. He can now clearly hear the tv. The range is awsome. and he loves the built in volume control and the fact that he does not need to change batteries. I am considering another set for him to use with the radio.
Congratulations to Digital Home. My headphones arrived within 48 hours of placing my order

I have used remote earphones for several years to allow me to hear the TV and Stereo without disturbing others in the house. My experiance with these to now has been poor and I was about the go back to standard phones with extension cords with I came across the Sennheiser RS 130 RF STEREO HEADPHONE. After using these for a couple of weeks I have found them to be ideal. They are comfortable, very good sound reproduction and the built-in rechargeable batteries stops the continual battery expense of others. While they are more expensive than a number on the market they are well worth buying.

This is a very comfortable headphone which produces a very high quality sound when everything is lined up perfectly. Unfortunately if you turn your head the wrong way or move to the wrong place the sound can develop a hiss or cut out momenterily. As this is the first wireless headphone I have owned I dont have other products to compare this one with so these negatives could very well be common to all wireless headphones.

They are really good! I didn't know that this would affect my life so much. I love to have music on a lot. But my wife and two boys like to watch telly. I don't get into telly so much, and now with these headphones when they are doing the telly, I tend to wander round the house doing my odd jobs with the headphones on. And I also get up early and listen to music around the house with out bothering anybody. They are great! And I can adjust the volume where I am without having to go back to my stereo. And also you don't lose the quality when moving from room to room around the house like you might with speakers. They are there on your ears all the time! Thank you!

157 out of 277 people found the following review helpful:

I was very interested in some good quality and affordable cordless surround headphones, so the Senheiser RS-130 offered all that I was looking for.
I found the best price available here, at digitalhome.com.au, I was just amazed I could save $40 off retail price, at JB's these headphones are $279!!!. That was a good start, so I gave it a go. Fast and good service from Ben.
A couple of days later when I received the headphones, I was very happy to give them a try, but something pretty weird happened, I couldn't get them to work at all. Everything seemed to be fine, but somehow they just didn't work, even after recharging the batteries for more than 20hrs. Very disappointed I had to send them back to Sydney, back at digitalhome, Ben, who gave me a great help and service, got them to work and couldn't find anything wrong with them, hesitant I received the headphones back in Melbourne.
But hey, I gave them a try and couldn't find anything wrong with them, something I just can't explain.

These are awesome headphones with great sound (little hiss during quiet passages). The range is pretty good, however you will be able to hear constant cracks if you keep moving around, especially through walls. But I must say I love the freedom, no cable mess.
For music these headphones deliver excellent response, a bit short in the higher frequencies for my taste, but otherwise no complaints.
Movies are clear and in general well detailed, the surround mode makes a good job, but obviously it will never be like the real thing. However, for the price of these headphones it's good enough, In movies, voices that should feel in the centre, feel in front as a wide area, and effects behind you sound on your sides, very rarely behind. But I must say that once you get into the movie without external interruptions, (lights, kids, wifes, phones ringing, etc), you are being dragged in to it without notice, an you really feel part of the action.
Games are a very interesting experience, the surround mode does and excellent job, I played several games on my Gamecube and I am really satisfied, whole worlds come to life all around you and that's what it's about. Surround back left and right channels are very defined and easy to localize, enemies or speceships behind you can be heard, allowing you to turn around just on time to shoot'em back, excellent.Very happy with gameplay.

Conclusion, these are affordable, very high quality headphones which offer lots of freedom all around the house.
Easy to recharge, stylish and very cool.

Good enough to watch movies late at night and not disturb others, very good for music and in my opinion excellent for game play, the surround mode works really well in this area.
These headphones offer great features for the price, well worth the money, I am very happy with these ones.
Dolby Headphones at this stage are only developed by a couple of companies, so it makes it very hard and very expensive if you can get a hold on one of them. Dolby headphones are well over $600, so hey, these Senheiser RS-130 are well worth it. Probably the best alternative out there today for a great price.

These are a great set of wireless headphones. They are comfortable for long periods, the recharging design of the stand is great, the range is also great. Battery life is great. The sound quality is good, but not great, although having said this i am more than happy with them as they are a wireless set! Can get some interference at my house, this could be due to being close to the landing zone of the airport, the other wireless stuff in my house. I would recommend these headphones if you really are looking for a rechargable wireless set, if not, get wired headphones.
