The CX 300 black are high-quality stereo ear-canal headphones with powerful, bass-driven stereo sound for listening 'on the move'. Ear adapters in three different sizes ensure a perfect fit, high wearing comfort and an excellent attenuation of ambient noise. The CX 300 are ideal for use with MP3,CX300B In Ear Headphones, Black CD, MD, or DVD players and many other portable devices.

These great in-ear headphones from Sennheiser are the perfect audio accessory for a whole range of portable players, from iPods to Mp3 players, portable DVD and games systems. They offer incredible sound, excellent wearing comfort and cutting edge design

The CX300’s are the first consumer “ear-canal” headphones that Sennheiser has ever produced. They employ an innovative, miniaturized Sennheiser driver that has been specially designed to deliver super smooth, acoustically correct in-ear operation. This driver enables the CX300’s to provide an extended 18Hz-21kHz response, high on detail but also strong and defined in the low frequencies. If you’ve ever listened to one of your favourite tunes on your iPod and thought “hey, where did the bass go”, these in-ear phones could be just what you need.

One of the other common gripes with in-ear headphones is how uncomfortable they can be. This is an area in which Sennheiser has obviously taken great care. For a start, the CX 300 comes with three different sized ear adapters, so you can find the one that fits best forCX300B In Ear Headphones, Black you (no more of this “one size fits all” fantasy). Each of these ear pieces is made of ultra soft, silcone rubber to ensure long term wearing comfort.

The excellent design continues with the CX 300’s special in-ear seal. This serves two important functions: to minimise ambient noise from your surrounding environment and to maximize the depth and presence of the bass. As you’d expect from a Sennheiser headphone set, it does both very well. If you enjoy escaping into the world of your favourite music while you’re on the move, the CX 300’s create a listening experience that will truly take you there.

This great headphone set also includes a light, but strong asymmetrical cable and a handy set of plug adapters. For added peace of mind it comes with a two-year comprehensive warranty from Sennheiser.

Frequency response 18Hz - 21kHz Cable length Asymmetrical, L: 170 mm; R: 510 mm, (850 mm divider to plug)
Impedance 16 Ohm Sound pressure level (SPL) 112 dB (1 kHz, 1 Vrms)
Jack plug 3,5 mm stereo (angled) Ear coupling intraaural (ear canal fit)
Transducer principle dynamic, open

Pros: Great sound, great outside noise blocking
Cons: Occasional cable tangling, but, you'll have that...
Okay, everyone's raved about the sound quality of these things, and, I'll join in the chorus. I ride a train every day to and from work, and I'm astounded how little volume it takes to override the mundane ramblings of my fellow passengers. I used to bring along my Sony MDR7506's that I use at work ... and while these Sennheiser's aren't QUITE that good, and I'd never use them for recording ... for daily listening, they're far more comfortable and easier to haul around, and garner far less odd looks from people.

Speaking of hauling them around - I've found that using an old Altoids or similar tin (rinsed and dried thoroughly, obviously) is a nice substitute for a proper case; You just have to be careful wrapping the cable up, but, they do fit in there quite nicely.

Highly recommended ... I've given them as gifts to a few people - and they've all raved about them, and how far superior they are to the "stock" iPod headphones. But you do have to treat them with a little care and TLC ... they're not $10 pieces of junk you get at a record shop, for sure!

Pros: Good sound, Good fit
Cons: Thin cable, Only one pair of each size ear adapters
These in-ear phones sound great and are fir my ears very well with the fitted medium sized adapters. They also supply a pair of small & a pair of large adapters - it's just a pity that there is only one pair of each size - the rubber is very thin and may wear quickly. I like the odd length left & right cords - this allows you to easily string the cord around the back of your neck which prevents them dropping to the ground when you remove the buds. I just wish the cable was a little thicker.

Pros: Awesome sound, very comfy fit
Cons: separate length cord to ears, not something I'm used to
These just arrived today & I am gobsmacked at the fantastic sound quality of these little beauties! I use them with my iPOD & they are in a class of their own. I've never heard such sound coming from my iPOD before, I'm hooked. Thanx heaps guys, was worth the small wait. Highly highly recommended by me.

Pros: Great for use on trains and even on planes
Cons: Cord and other noise because they fit too well
When my Sennheiser MX450 broke after nearly a year I wanted some replacement headphones (Digital Home organised a replacement pair of MX450 under warranty, but I wanted to try something else). Lucky for me the CX300 were on special, and I quickly ordered a pair. I have to say I prefer the sound of MX450 (by a small margin), but the CX300 are much better for use on trains and planes. They have no active noise cancelling, but they cut out external noise very well. Because of this the CX300 gives excellent bass response. Unlike the MX450, I don't have to constantly push the earplugs back into my ears, and they stay in. My only problem with the CX300 is that, because they fit so well, I can hear the noise of the cords while walking, and I can hear my own breathing and walking if the music volume is low enough (try pushing your fingers into your ear and hearing yourself breathe - it's the same with the CX300)! Otherwise they are great headphones at a very good price - perfect for my daily train trips and the occasional flight!

Pros: Sound Quality, comfort
Cons: Minor design flaw
ok, well these are definately one of the best headphones i have ever purchased, i definately recommend them.. I cant complain about one thing, ive had these headphones now for over a month and the quality of sound the headphones produce are great.

The only minor design flaw for me is the headphone jack being bent 90 degrees instead of being straight. Just causes a small hassle with the ipod case. Other than that great product.

Pros: Sound quality, noise reduction, very confortable fit
Cons: design... not the best
Overall, they produce great sound for their price, are comfortable (I fell asleep with them in once) and the snug fit allows you to listen to music at a reasonable level rather than cranking the volume to overcome the ambient background noise. The only thing I didn't like was the design: there are less expensive Sennheiser earphones that have a lanyard incorporated into then so that if the earbud does fall out or is pulled out somehow then you won't get the earphones dragging along the ground or caught in the door etc (R.I.P my earphones!)... but, if you're a bit more careful with you property then this probably won't be so much of a problem for you. Overall, good sound for you bucks...

Pros: Crystal Clear sound, and perfect fit
Cons: Still need to untangle the earbuds when unpacking from my bag
I had a unique need, for which this product greatly solved. I have a deep scar in one ear from an operation some years ago, so it is hard for me to find ear buds that actually fit and stay in that ear. Because of the different size fits provided, I can have a small size for the left ear, and a medium for my right! Now, I actually hear stereo, which I have not been able to do for some time!
The fit is so comfortable and sound so clear, it is hard to believe you have them on - I often check to see if they are really there!
You can still hear outside noise - but they cant hear your music! So I have found it safe to enjoy at decent levels without annoying others.
Recommended.

Pros: Accurate full bodied sound, confortable fit
Cons: None
I bought these to replace my Koss 'plug' earphones. Prior to the Koss I had some Sony inner ear earpoones which cost me over $100 at the time.

These Sennheisers blew me away. The bass is clean and tight and brilliant mid and high end definition. Miles ahead of the Koss I've just been using.

I've had these for 3 weeks and at the end of the first week put them through a wash/dry cycle in a jacket pocket (along with my Zen). Both actually survived although the Zen took a couple of days to dry out, but if the Sennheisers didn't I would have bought another pair straight away with no hesitation 'cause I reckon they are brilliant.

Pros: Lightweight, comfortable
Cons: Rubber-like cord, easy to misplace in ear
Having just ditched my Sony MDR-EX71SL Fontopia Headphones after the left speaker kept going dead, I basically just wanted a different brand of the same sort of headphones.

Whilst at first I found these headphones good, they didn't seem to match the sounds and comfort of the Sony ones. The truth is, they are just as good if not better if you just ensure your buds are the right size and you insert them correctly.

I now highly recommend these headphones.

Pros: Brilliant sound reproduction, and comfortable
Cons: Lopsided cord
These CX300's are so much better than the original ipod ear buds in many ways, comfort, deadly bass, and crystal clear sound reproduction.
The only drawback (maybe??) is the uneven cord which favours being worn on the left side, minor problem.

Pros: Full bodied warm sound, lightweight design.
Cons: Bass is less defined than other brands (Sony).
The one thing that blew away about the CX 300 is its range and spatial realness. Listening to Classical music (especially orchestral and chamber music), there is clear distinction in the ranges and you can very clearly hear each instrument(s). It is also a nice clean warm sound, thanks to the design.

The bass I felt is not as deep compared to the Sony MDR-EX51/71 (the design of which is relatively the same). Its adequate for House music but when you want a deep chunky bass-line for those Dirty Electro tracks, you might be a bit disappointed. In saying that however, the sound clarity does give it a punchier feel over the Sony. Obviously, change the bass settings on your player to suit but all things being equal, the bass range is not as impressive.

At the end of the day however, the CX 300 with its realness of sound and price trumps the competition.

Pros: Great clarity & comfort. Amazing headroom in the volume and bass response kicks hard.
Cons: Cord is a little short. it could sit a little better around the neck - but I wouldn't let this put you off.
I am a musician, and these phones don't let me down at all. They sit snug inside the ears, blocking out virtually all outside noise. The clarity and amazing bass response is equally great through every frequency. There is enough headroom on these have your media at half volume - and you've still got more to go if you want a boost. Really, really good job Sennheiser - these headphones were exactly what I was looking for. I would have no hesitation in recommending these to anyone.

I bought these to use with ipod. Good for noisy environments. Blocks external sounds but not completely which is a good thing in terms of safety. Unexpected clarity for such a small speaker. Good bass if a little bit artificial.

Pros: Almost no ambient noise, Light, Low external profile, Inexpensive, Great Clarity and Bass Response
Cons: Impossible to hear oncoming traffic
I ride a motorbike and these are the first headphones to allow me to listen to my favourite tunes in uninterrupted bass filled clarity. They fit neatly under my helmet and create an in ear seal which blocks ambient noise while throwing full bass response and clear trebles. The overall experience is the closest I've had so far to 'really being there'.

Pros: Great sound, very comfortable, very detailed bass
Cons: y shaped cord
I purchased these headphones as a replacement to the standard headphones that came with my MP3 player. As soon as I took them out of the packing I plugged them in and tried them out.

I listed to a mixture of music (being a DJ) so I threw a bit of dance, R&B, jazz and even rap at these headphones and they came out very strongly. I was amazed by the amount of bass these tiny little headphones produced!! I also own a set of sennheiser full-size headphones and they even produce more bass than those!

Quite a good replacement for any headphones, my only dislike was the shape of the cord (not a big fan of the longer cord for one side and shorter for the other)

Try them out, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Pros: Great sound
Cons: Too much bass, plugs can be uncomfortable, cord thin and tangles easily
Best bang for the buck for in-ear canal phones. The Sony MDR71s have terrible treble and mid-range. The Koss PLUGs have poor detail. The Audio-technica phones have poor bass, so so mid-range. The possibly better earphones are much too expensive. The PX100 have better sound, but can't be used on public transport due to high ambient noise. Once your ears get used to the sleeve, quite comfortable.

After my Sennheiser mx500's bit the dust, I was in need of a quality replacement. Fortunately for me Sennheiser had just released their CX300's. I've never had a pair of earphones come close to matching the sound these babys provide. If you dont have a spare $400 lying around for some Etymotics, these quality phones from Sennheiser will blitz anyting else in their price range. Oh and if you're still using your crappy iPod earphones, BUY THESE NOW!!

Cons: Not any major cons
I purchased these headphones a few weeks ago, I think they're great. While the sound quality doesn't blow your mind it is really very good for the price. The fit and comfort level is very good, I find these headphones much more comfortable than my old iPod headphones. You can wear them for as long as you like without experiencing any discomfort.
All in all tey were exactly what I expected them to be, a decent pair of headphones

I had been hunting around for a pair of good in-ear headphones for quite a few weeks and was glad that i had waited a bit to discover that Sennheiser has recently released this pair of great headphones.

I had been tossing between a normal type earphone and an in-ear type and had previously purchased the Koss "The Plug". Unfortunately it was badly designed with the foam fittings too large for my ear canals. The experience made me think twice about in-ear type headphones. However, I decided to take the punt and try out Sennheiser CX300. I've now had it for a few weeks and am pleased with the purchase (thanks also to DigitalHome for providing a good and swift service).

The silicone-rubber ear adapters were very comfortable (I used the small ones) fitting my ears nicely. The ambient noise is significantly reduced enhancing the high quality sound produced by the headphones. Bass reproduction is good and mid-to-high range are clear. Overall a nice "warm" sound.

Some people may not like the asymmetrical cable (ie. one length of the earphone shorter than the other so you can wrap the cable around behind the neck), but I do prefer it.

My only gripe is that it doesn't come with a protective travel casing.
