LCD TVs have brighter screens which may make your eyes tired, for example
when watching TV at night or over extended periods. Also colours on the screen
can appear to be distorted by a change of surrounding colour temperature. The
Intelligent Sensor uses 4,096 RGB sensing steps to optimise the picture quality,
by constantly analysing the brightness and colour temperature of the surrounding
area. The RGB sensor optimises the brightness, contrast, colour, sharpness, and
white balance reducing unnecessary brightness. This technology can protect
against eyestrain and reduces power consumption up to a maximum of 62%

LG TVs have 3 special preset AV Modes which provide the
best suitable image quality and sound for specific types of content. They are
easily accessible using the AV MODE hot key on the remote control.
    Cinema
    Mode
Cinema Mode allows you to enjoy a film as the Director intended,
preserving the original colour expression and atmosphere. Cinema Mode balances
the image attributes around industry standards such as D65 (white balance) and
ITU-BT7091 (colour), as some image quality processing functions can alter how
    the original film is displayed.

    Sport Mode
    Sports Mode makes
watching sport feel more exciting by emphasizing the vivid primary colours (e.g.
greener grass, bluer sky, etc) and optimizing the TV to display fast moving
images with no judder or motion blur.

    Game Mode
    Game Mode
optimises the TV for computer games, for a more dynamic gaming experience. By
constantly calculating image quality rate, game mode increases dark expression
and provides a clearer image. This is essential due to the games-players
typically high concentration and short-watching distance. Sound quality is
adjusted simultaneously, completing the dynamic experience.

LG TVs have a brand new Expert Mode feature, which allows advanced users to
optimise the image to a level not previously possible. You can make up to 25
more fine adjustments than TVs typically allow The Expert Mode menu has been
fully approved by the Image Science Foundation (ISF), an international
organisation specialising in image quality calibration, There are also two
preset options of ISF-DAY and ISF-NIGHT which have already been tuned specially
    by ISF.

Unlike UK TV broadcasts, blockbuster movies are filmed at 24 frames per
second. Blu-ray and HD-DVD movies also preserve this original 24fps. With
conventional TVs one frame is displayed 3 times, the next twice and then three
times again, this can sometimes have an adverse judder effect on the movie With
LG Real Cinema every frame is consistently processed 5 times in 1/24 of a second
producing 120 fps (or 120Hz), thus totally eliminating the judder effect. Now
you can enjoy the same picture quality as the director originally intended.

    Wide Colour Control
Wide Colour Control expands the range of colours the
TV can display (colour gamut), which gives a more natural, vivid and true to
life image quality a more accurate reproduction of the original source
    colours.

    Fresh White
LG TVs use the XD Engines Fresh White
algorithm to control the white expression in relation to the colour temperature
of the original source. When colour temperature increases, the Fresh White
algorithm calculates the optimal white expression to balance the image and keep
the white areas white. Fresh White applies on Vivid / Sport Mode, which need
clear image quality for fast moving images.

    Anti-Dazzling System
    (Eye Care)
Control the total quantity of light output from the TV screen The
system reduces the white saturating effect on bright scenes and increases black
expression on dark scenes. This decreases the tiredness of your eyes when
watching TV for extended periods. This algorithm is designed to provide better
picture quality within the Intelligent Sensor, Standard, Sport, and Game Preset
    Modes.

Sometimes when watching films it is difficult to hear human voices over the
background sounds of their environment, due to the down-mixing that occurs to
push 5.1 surround-sound through a TVs 2 channel speaker system. The Clear Voice
feature alters the sound balance to emphasise human voices and reducing the
background noise All input source (RF/AV/Component/HDMI) as well as Stereo and
Mono broadcast can be controlled by Clear Voice.

Wide Sweet Spot. The front bezel works as a speaker, replacing the normal
speaker grill. With the Invisible Speaker system, the speakers are embedded in
strategic spots underneath and around the front bezel. They enhance the audio by
increasing the sweet spot to give a wider and richer sound field. This new
speaker system provides a clean and fashionable design compared with traditional
    side or bottom speaker designs.

    Moving LED
    The
Moving LED power status indicator is the aesthetically pleasant replacement for
the simple red-light standby indicator. The indicator color glows red whilst in
standby, then gently pulses during the power up sequence, before changing to a
    soft blue light whilst running.

The HDMI connection is the digital replacement to the old SCART standard, and
provides the best picture and sound quality by digitally transferring the
signal. As the new standard, it is convenient for the consumer as the same
connection type is used to connect many different types of products. It can
carry both visual and sound information, reducing cable mess. LG TVs with 4
HDMIs have 3 on the rear and 1 on the side, for further convenience.

HDMI 1.3 supports 30-bit, 36-bit and 48-bit (RGB or YCbCr) colour depths.
Previous versions of the HDMI specification only supported 24-bit colour depth.

Eliminates on-screen colour banding, for smooth tonal transitions and subtle
    gradations between colours
    Enables increased contrast ratio
    Can
represent many times more shades of gray between black and white. At 30-bit
pixel depth, four times more shades of gray would be the minimum, and the
typical improvement would be eight times or
    more.

The problem of too many remote controls is symptomatic of modern times
there are so many different AV devices to connect (Blu-ray player, Sky box,
home-cinema system, etc.) and each comes with its own device. LGs SIMPLINK
system can control all the connected AV devices with one remote control. By
pressing the SIMPLINK remote control key, you can switch on and control all
devices connected by HDMI. When the TV is switched off, all connected AV devices
are automatically switched off as well.

The LG TVs which offer a USB connection now use an upgraded USB terminal,
upgraded from 1.1 to 2.0. This offers faster and easier access to multimedia
USB 2.0 is 40 times faster than USB 1.1, with a transfer speed of 480Mb per
second. USB 2.0 is also a very compatible interface that helps you to connect
various types of memory cards through a memory card reader. PnP (Plug and Play)
feature allows easy-use of digital cameras, camcorders and MP3 players plug

Pros: for the price simply one word. AWESOME
Cons: more av connections. not everyone has HDMI eqiupment yet
i like to say thanks to JB Hifi great deal. Excellent TV. It's a shame that the 100HZ model cost nearly $1000.00 more but i don't feel it is needed as this model will certainly exceed and please everyone who buys this model.
