Pros: Supports DivX + almost any DVD or CD I throw at it. Good battery life for most DVDs
Cons: Only handles DivX in 4:3 format. Does not remember disc location when powered off.
Portable DVD players are not typically known for their good picture or sound quality and, while this unit will not be the best around, for the price it performs amicably. I recode DVDs to be half resolution and in DivX format to get 5 or 6 movies onto a single layer DVD.

The DC input can handle being plugged directly into a car's cigarette lighter socket and this increases the versatility significantly. Some other portable players require an expensive adapter to be used in the car and are unable to be used off an external 12V battery if longer life is desired.

For the slight price increase over the 7in unit, I would not hesitate to recommend the 9in player. The extra 2 inches makes for very easy viewing by two people such as in a plane, train or car. Movies are crisp without signs of streaking of the LCD screen. The sound could have a slightly higher maximum for noiser environments, but it it sufficient for planes, trains and most road surfaces.
