With crystal clear highs and deep, well-defined bass the PXC-150’s definitely

Pros: Good noise cancellation. Excellent sound with noise cancellation on. Soft and comfortable on ears.
Cons: Have to adjust volume when you de/activate noise cancellation as volume difference is significant.
I work in an environment where it can get noisy (R & D lab with lots of instrumentation and equipment, extraction fans, air conditioners) and so the noise cancellation is just excellent.
I was particularly impressed with the sound quality when the noise cancellation is activated. However, when it isn't, the volume is attenuated and because of that it feels like it lacks a little clarity and a little bass punch (but that is probably because of the lower volume - cranking up the volume compensates for this of course).
I thought they were good but I didn't realize how good, until I put my old ear-bud style earphones in to compare! Couldn't believe how much noise they let in, and how loud I had to set the volume to hear the music acceptably!
Looking forward to a few more years of my sense of hearing being intact! |

Pros: no much
Cons: noise cancelling is hopeless on a turbo prop aircarft
I bought a pair of PXC-150 noise cancelling headphones hoping for piece on a turbo prop aircraft - I regularly do a 2hr flight. To my dismay the drone of the engines were well apparent. I sent them back Sennheiser quoting good advertising - bad product. Heard nothing back from them...
The battery pack gets in the way - needs to be in the headphones. |

An overcrowded flight complete with screaming children. Been there? Well my latest soujourn to Singapore was just as you can imagine. Thankfully Digital Home delivered my new Sennheiser PCX-150's just in time.
Even with the MP3 player turned off, the screaming was all but erradicated. The continual roar of the engines were also muted to a manageble level.
Though the Boeing 777 had a conventional 3.5mm jack, the PCX-150's have all the plugs adapters you need for even the most stubborn Airbus or Tupelov, ok, well maybe not the Tupelov. Similarly the 2 batteries supplied lasted to Singapore and back. The spares were not needed giving me the confidence in the reported battery life.
These babies come with my recommendation. If you find yourself in a loud place often enough, then these things are for you! |

To overcome a noisy office and to make my business trips overseas less tiresome I bought a pair of PXC150s. In the office the general background noise disappears, loud voices are less distracting and music clarity is great. In the aircraft the dull monotonous roar is tamed and sleep quickly follows.
Very comfortable even for long periods and the sound quality is top class. |
